MISSION

Explorer Post 916 is chartered by the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and affiliated with the Pasco Sheriff’s Office. The program is designed for teenagers and young adults, 14 to 21 years old, to explore the career of law enforcement, as well as the fields of forensics and drones. Members receive training in a variety topics including officer safety, report writing, handcuffing procedures, interviewing and note taking, traffic stops and much more.

Embedded into the Program are the agency’s values and core philosophies, including servant leadership. Explorers actively engage with their community and provide volunteer service to various components of the agency and community events, such as fairs, parades, rodeos, and races.

EXPECTED PARTICIPATION

While Explorer Post 916 is a volunteer program and many of our current members have obligations outside of the Explorer Post, such as work, sports, school commitments and extracurricular activities, regular attendance is expected to take advantage of all opportunities offered by the Post. While we are flexible with obligation outside of the Post, communicating such obligations in advance is paramount. Feel free to discuss any obligations with Advisors during the administrative interview.
